"Uneek Fingering" from Urth Yarns on the Loom

During the 2020 Deep South Yarn Hop last week, I picked up a skein of 100% superfine merino yarn from Urth Yarns called "Uneek Fingering". I had never woven with this yarn before, so the shop owner at The Taming of the Ewe Yarn Shop & Tea Room let me take a skein to try out. The finished scarf is on its way back to her to use as a shop sample.

This yarn wove up easily, both as weft and warp, and since I used the spaced warp method, I only used about 62 grams of the 100 g skein (about 270 yards) for this medium length scarf.

2020 Holiday Weaving Projects

Holiday weaving has begun at my home studio. I'm primarily working on checks and plaid designs using a cashmere/silk/merino fiber blend. I'm also using an organic lamb and organic cotton blend yarn for other projects.
