Our 8 students had a blast at last night's 'Intro to Shibori Dyeing' Class and took home 4 finished works of art (and useful cotton kitchen towels). Below are a few examples of their work. Join us in July for another class like this one at Yarn Boutique of Decatur (Decatur, AL).
I wanted to see how Eowyn's (Shetland sheep from Ballyhoo Farms, Bagdad, KY) fiber worked up in yarn form before I spun any more of it, so here is my first finished object after processing her raw fleece. I was pleased with the results, so now I'm ready to process more roving that will be spun into 2-ply yarn for weaving on my rigid heddle loom.
